Frequently asked questions

T4 or T9 – which replacement tube fits mine?

The tube diameter is decisive: T4 is the slim rod tube, T9 the noticeably thicker ring tube. The most common mispurchase is the wrong diameter – compare the print on your old tube before ordering or measure it; if in doubt our service team can help from a photo.

The tube flickers or will not start – is the tube at fault?

Flickering usually means the tube fails to ignite. That can be the tube itself or the lamp's starter. Black marks at the tube ends or contacts are a clue. We do not stock starters – if the problem persists after replacing the tube, consider a repair or LED conversion.

Is converting to LED worthwhile?

Often yes: for older series our service offers an LED ring with driver board as a spare part – after that, tube and starter are no longer needed. Ask with your model number whether a conversion kit exists for your lamp.

Why does the new tube fail again so quickly?

If a replacement tube fails noticeably fast, the cause is usually not the tube: check the starter and contacts (loose contact, black marks) and whether your workplace has voltage fluctuations.

Where does the old fluorescent tube go?

Not in household waste: fluorescent tubes contain traces of mercury and belong at hazardous-waste collection or the recycling centre – many DIY and electronics stores also take them back.
